Meet the Team
As your counselor I’m on the journey with you
Hello, I am Marlena Strong, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tennessee State University in Nashville and my Master’s Degree in Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University, also in Nashville. My journey in the mental and behavioral health field began in 2006 with a practicum at Magdalene House, focusing on women recovering from prostitution and addiction. I then served at Meharry Medical College, Elam Mental Health Center, assisting women who faced dual diagnoses of substance use, mental health issues, and chronic health conditions.
Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to serving diverse populations, working with youth in the juvenile justice system and individuals in crisis via the Georgia Crisis and Access Line. I've collaborated with one of the largest law enforcement agencies through an EAP program, and I currently operate in private practice. My primary objective has always been to foster a safe and welcoming environment for individuals from all backgrounds, emphasizing multicultural counseling.
I am a certified Anger Management Specialist and Clinical Trauma Professional, providing support to individuals aged 14-17 and adults 18+. My areas of focus include life transitions, identity, workplace stress, anxiety, depression, chronic health issues, grief, anger, and relationship challenges.
